Vancouver Stanley Cup Riot Charges

The authorities are expecting hundreds of people to be charged in conjunction with June 15th’s Stanley Cup riot. Due to its large scale and unprecedented media coverage, a campaign has been launched to identify the perpetrators including a full web site with photos of the accused. Considerable resources are being put in place to find those responsible including specialized video processing to deal with the over 1600 hours of submitted riot video.  The Vancouver Police Fugitive Task Force has been engaged to track down those who have been charged and have not yet reported to the police. The Task force has also undertaken poster campaigns to get the public’s help in finding the perpetrators.  The police and Crown are under considerable pressure to deal with those responsible.
